Nesib Shamah is a Louisiana-born, Seattle-based filmmaker and recipient of the 2019 Mayor's Award for Achievement in Film. An Emmy-nominated director and producer, Nesib blends a documentary eye with narrative ambition.

A graduate of the Seattle Film Institute, Nesib has built a dynamic career behind the camera. His eye for capturing authentic moments earned him an Emmy nomination for the documentary Welcome to Doe Bay, alongside a diverse portfolio of live music shoots and the web series Destination Unknown.

Nesib’s versatility as a producer is evident in projects ranging from the short films Haskell and Mehndi to feature films like Ahamefule Oluo's musical Thin Skin, John Helde's Marcie's, and David Franklin's A Dying Art. Recently stepping further into writing and directing, he has shifted his focus more to genre filmmaking with Sojourn and Late for the Orgy.
